On Thursday, 17th November, two survival experts called Dave and Jackson, visited Years 5 and 6 to talk about survival techniques.  Dave spoke about planning for an emergency, assessing an emergency situation and how to call for help.  He then went on to demonstrate how to help people who are unconscious but breathing, people who are unconscious but not breathing, and people who are choking.

The children had the opportunity to ask questions, put each other into the recovery position, and then practise their chest compression techniques on three different sized models!  Each session was thoroughly enjoyed, and I know that the children would have loved to have spent longer learning about survival techniques!
