Important message from the Chair of Governors
On behalf of the school, I am delighted to share with you some exciting news!
Following a robust selection process, the Governors unanimously agreed to apply to the Department of Education to become an academy as part of the CWA Academy Trust and we are pleased to confirm that our application has been approved.
The CWA Academy Trust, founded by the College of West Anglia, is based in Kings Lynn and includes a mix of both primary and secondary schools.
CWA Academy Trust was seen as the right choice and natural fit for our school because of the quality and track record of its primary school performance and support, it’s enthusiasm to have our school as part of their primary family of academies, the capabilities of its leadership team and the fact that the majority of our pupils transfer onto King Edward VII Academy and the College of West Anglia.
By joining the CWA Academy Trust our school will not only be consolidating the improvements our staff and pupils have worked so hard to achieve in recent years but we will also be joining an Academy Trust solely focused on delivering the best educational outcomes for our local area.
Governors and School Leaders view this transition as a really positive step for our school, most importantly for its pupils. Now that our Academy Order has been issued, we are all looking forward to joining their existing family of local schools from the 1st March 2017.
The school will be hosting a consultation meeting on Wednesday, 14th December where representatives from CWA Academy Trust will be available to address any specific queries or questions that you may have. Further details about this meeting will follow.
The Governors believe wholeheartedly that joining the CWA Academy Trust will significantly enhance the opportunities available for our pupils and we look forward to future success for our school.
Mr Julian Young
Chair of Governors
