School Staff Nurse visit to Year 5/6 re Puberty Sessions
Sharon Youngs (NHS School Staff Nurse) will be visiting local schools over the next couple of months to talk to children in Year 5/6 about puberty.
Each session will take place in the afternoon lasting for about 90 minutes, and will include a general overview of puberty. During these sessions there will be some class based exercises including discussions about body changes. The boys and girls will have the opportunity to ask questions separately and Sharon will bring some leaflets for the children to bring home, plus some sanitary product samples for the girls.
She will be coming to speak to our children on the following dates:
- Tuesday, 21st February - Oak Class
- Wednesday, 22nd February - Elder Class
- Thursday, 23rd February - Juniper Class
All children in Year 5/6 will be included in these discussions, however if you would prefer for your child not to take part you can, of course, opt out. If you would prefer for your child not to take part in these sessions please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of Monday, 20th February.
