As a school, we have a responsibility to help children learn to eat healthily. School provided meals can often be healthier than packed lunches as they include vegetables and fruit, and avoid confectionery and snacks that are often found in packed lunches provided from home.
Since 2014 we have a policy for packed lunches so that we can ensure that all children eat a healthy and nutritious lunch. We understand that while some children already have a fairly healthy packed lunch, for others it will mean making significant changes to what you include in your child's packed lunch.
The main changes are that crisps, sweets, chocolate bars, cakes and pastries are not recommended in packed lunches. Suggestions for alternative, healthier options can be found in the information provided below.
