The National Curriculum sets out the subjects and aimed outcomes within these, that all schools must achieve by certain points within Primary (Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2) and Secondary Education (Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4). Whilst the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework outlines similar age-appropriate expectations for those within our Reception class, covering the education of those aged 0 - 5 years old.

Each school is required to decide the detailed steps that will be needed to ensure that all children meet or exceed these learning expectations and maximise the knowledge, skills and understanding that each pupil obtains during their education.
As such, each subject is led by a member of staff who is responsible for monitoring the 3 I's of an effective curriculum: Intent - what are we aiming to achieve; Implementation - how will we achieve this and Impact - are we achieving this and how do we know.
This process is explained below for each of the subjects covered at North Wootton Academy including the detailed sequence of learning that supports our learning from Reception to the end of Year 6.
